How your app gets into the stores

What happens after you press Publish, and the two accounts you need.

1. Publish in your Shopify admin

Open CartHouse in your Shopify admin, check the color and wordmark we read from your store, add your logo, and press Publish. Your app uses Sculpt, our first template, and your catalog is published to the CartHouse sales channel at the same time. From then on, every change you publish reaches installed apps within about a minute; you never resubmit for a design change.

2. Your Apple and Google accounts

Apple and Google require an app for your brand to be published under your own developer account. This is the one part we cannot do for you, and it is a one-time setup:

  • Apple Developer Program: enroll at developer.apple.com with your business details. Apple charges $99 a year, and enrolling as a company needs a D-U-N-S number, which can take a few weeks to arrive. Start this first.
  • Google Play Console: register at play.google.com/console as an organization, not a personal account: Google makes new personal accounts run a 14-day test with at least 12 testers before an app can go live. Google charges $25 once and verifies your identity.

Once each account is live, you invite CartHouse’s publishing account, [email protected], as an Admin. That address is only for these invitations; for help, write to support. We walk you through both invitations by email.

3. We build and submit

Before the first build, we review your brand (vegan, plant-based or certified cruelty-free), usually within one business day. We generate your app icon and store screenshots from your published design, write the listing text with you, and submit the iOS and Android builds. Apple reviews most apps within a week; Google within a few days. If a reviewer asks a question, we answer it and keep you posted.

4. Live

We email you the App Store and Google Play links. Put them on your site and in your order emails. Orders placed in the app arrive in your Shopify admin like every other order.

Afterwards

  • Design and feature changes: publish from your admin, no review.
  • Catalog changes: manage what the app shows from your Products page, on the CartHouse sales channel.
  • New app versions: when we ship a new version of the app itself, we submit it for you and tell you when it is live.

Stuck anywhere? [email protected].
