Terms of Service

Effective October 17, 2026

These terms govern the use of CartHouse (“CartHouse”, “we”), a service that builds and operates native mobile apps for Shopify stores. By installing the CartHouse app on your Shopify store, you (“the merchant”) agree to them.

1. The service

CartHouse publishes a mobile app for your store from the design you set in the CartHouse page of your Shopify admin (template, colors, wordmark, logo and feature choices) and from the catalog you publish to the CartHouse sales channel. We build the apps, help you submit them to Apple’s App Store and Google Play under your own developer accounts, deliver your design changes to installed apps, and keep the service running.

CartHouse is for vegan, plant-based and certified cruelty-free brands. We review each brand before its app is published, usually within one business day. If we decline a store, we tell you why.

2. Your Shopify store and your customers

  • Orders, payments, taxes, shipping and refunds are handled by Shopify and your store, not by CartHouse. Checkout in the app is your Shopify checkout.
  • You are responsible for the products you sell, the content in your catalog and your store’s policies. The app shows what your Shopify store publishes to the CartHouse sales channel.
  • You must have the rights to the logo, wordmark and images you provide, and to sell everything in your catalog.
  • Your customers’ accounts, orders and personal details stay with your Shopify store. What CartHouse does and does not store is set out in the privacy policy.

3. App store accounts

Apple and Google require store-branded apps to be published under the brand’s own developer account. You keep those accounts, their fees and their agreements; we prepare the submissions and guide you through approval. Approval timing is set by Apple and Google, not by us.

4. Fees

The service costs $199 a month, billed through Shopify’s app billing. New stores start with a free trial of 30 days, which ends on the date Shopify shows when you accept the plan. You can cancel any month from your Shopify admin; the current month is not refunded. If you cancel, your apps stop receiving updates and we help you remove the listings.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use CartHouse to sell anything illegal where you or your customers are, to publish content you do not own, or to attempt to access other merchants’ data. Notifications you send from your Shopify admin reach only the customers who turned notifications on in your app; you are responsible for what you send, and you may not use them for unlawful, deceptive or abusive messages. We may suspend a store that breaks these rules, after telling you why.

6. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. If part of the app has a problem, we may switch that part off or to a simpler version until it is fixed (for example, opening checkout in the browser), so that your customers can keep shopping. We may change templates and features; before a change alters how your published app looks or works, we tell you in your Shopify admin or by email.

7. Liability

To the extent the law allows, CartHouse is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

8. Ending the agreement

Uninstalling the CartHouse app ends the agreement. Shopify sends us a deletion request 48 hours after you uninstall, and we erase your store’s data when it arrives, as described in the privacy policy. Apps already installed on your customers’ phones stop receiving updates from your store.
